Except for the interiors Gemballa also did some very impressive complete conversions mainly on Porsche 911 Turbo (930 model) such as the Gemballa Avalanche, Gemballa Cyrrus and Gemballa Mirage, but also on some other cars such as completely modified Mercedes S-classes (SEL and SEC), a widebody 6-series BMW and a redesigned Ferrari Testarossa.
The original AVALANCHE was named after an Alpine force of nature, and since the 1980s, has been the symbolic spearhead of all GEMBALLA cars based on the Porsche 911 Turbo. The current model, based on a Porsche 991 Turbo / Turbo S Coupe, makes 825 hp and 1,098 Nm of torque in GTR tune.

La Gemballa Avalanche 4X4 devrait rejoindre le reste des nouveaux modèles de 911 au style de baroudeur comme la RUF Rodeo, ou la supercar promise de Marc Phillip Gemballa inspirée de la 959. Cette dernière a justement été le fruit d'une bataille juridique avec Gemballa GmbH. C'est quoi au juste cette Avalanche 4X4 ? À en croire ces rendus numériques, cette Avalanche 4X4 est en fait une simple Porsche 911 à laquelle on a greffé des suspensions plus hautes, quelques éléments de carrosserie plus larges, un gros aileron à l'arrière et surtout, d'énormes pneus tout-terrains. Enfin bref, son look de baroudeuse est clairement assumé. « L'accent va être mis sur l'élargissement de notre gamme. Nous allons introduire de nombreux nouveaux modèles au cours des 24 prochains mois et étendre notre réseau de concessionnaires dans le monde entier », a déclaré Steffen Korbach, propriétaire et PDG de Gemballa. Luckily for those owners, there are plenty of tuning companies out there, but few make an impression like latest model from the German-based Porsche specialist is the new Avalanche - a 911 Turbo S-based supercar making its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor on its third generation, the Avalanche builds on the current car’s bi-turbo flat-six, lifting power from 572bhp to a slightly insane 796bhp. Torque has also been increased to 700lb ft from an already stout 516lb ft, so it’s a pretty fair guess that the Avalanche will offer plenty of performance. Giving new meaning to the term pram handle, it sits alongside a whole suite of styling changes that vary from unsubtle to outright challenging. An intake scoop has been secured to the top of the rear screen to divert air towards the well as a wing seemingly pinched from the underside of a hydroplane, Gemballa has installed a huge quad exhaust system - reminiscent of the exhaust ports of a fighter jet - alongside redesigned bodywork and aggressive rear diffuser. The side profile is equally insane. Gold 21-inch wheels cloak the yellow calipers, indicating the presence of Porsche's carbon ceramic anchors, all contrasted by the purply-blue hue. The black doors are inset into the body, creating a crevice in the rear-quarter to funnel cool air to the brakes. Copious smatterings of carbonfibre are never far from in front - 62mm wider than standard - the Avalanche’s front lid is seemingly inspired by the Corvette Z06, with a carbon hump giving owners a bit of extra space to store their ego. Red luminous lettering spells out the Gemballa company believes the Mad-Max style Porsche is a finely sharpened track tool, yet doesn’t hold back on the luxury. Gemballa Avalanche 4x4 Gemballa Avalanche 4x4 Gemballa Avalanche 4x4 Gemballa Avalanche 4x4 German tuner Gemballa released sketches of a Porsche 911 put on seriously tall stilts that it plans to bring to production. Called Avalanche 4x4, and presumably named after the snow cascade rather than the versatile Chevrolet truck, the model will land in a class of one when it makes its full debut before the end of 2020. This mutant off-roader shares represents a dramatic departure from the low-slung, rear-engined coupe it started life as. It's unusually tall, it's rolling on tires we'd expect to find under the new Ford Bronco, and every single one of its body panels has received some degree of modification. The front end gets a shorter bumper that improves its approach angle, a NACA duct, and deep vents. There are additional vents behind the doors and on the roof, while the back end is characterized by a chopped-up bumper, a new diffuser, and a huge wing. The car shown in the sketches is based on the last-generation 911, which is known as the 991 internally. Gemballa explained it will be able to turn the current, 992-generation model into an Avalanche 4x4 as well. Performance specifications haven't been released yet. The tuner pointed out it currently offers a package that bumps the 911's output to 818 horsepower, and it's working on raising that figure to 1,000 horsepower by summer 2020. The kit will be compatible with 991- and 992-generation variants of the emblematic Porsche. Regardless, the Avalanche 4x4's performance data will "outshine all comparable vehicles," the firm pledged. Are there comparable vehicles on the market? The 700-horsepower Laffite G-Tec X-Road will come close, assuming it reaches production, as will the Lamborghini Steratto concept introduced in 2019 if it sees the light that awaits at the end of a production line. And, although the Avalanche 4x4 is strongly reminiscent of the lifted 959 that won the 1986 Paris-Dakar, Porsche hasn't built anything like it since. In other words, right now, the best way to put an off-roading supercar in your garage is to build it yourself, or to track down one of the five or six examples of the V12-powered Mega Track made by French firm Aixam between 1992 and 2000. Avalanche 4x4 production will be limited to "an exclusive small series." Production will start by the end of 2020. The announcement comes as Gemballa prepares to split its business into three divisions. Called Hypercar, the first will — you guessed it — work on a standalone hypercar with over 800 horsepower. The firm's Luxury Customization division will focus on making one- and few-off models, while the Classics arm will be responsible for maintaining and restoring vintage Gemballa vehicles. The Gemballa Avalanche should be a name quite familiar to those who have been keeping an eye on the aftermarket scene, but this is isn’t an ordinary version of the amped-up 911 as the teaser sketch portrays a sports car for all types of terrain. Gemballa has been thinking about doing a rugged version of Stuttgart’s machine for about four years, and will be coming out with the Avalanche 4x4 within the next 24 months. While sketches usually exaggerate the details, the real thing should still be quite nice and even more spectacular than RUF’s new Rodeo concept. The Avalanche 4x4 will be complemented by a Tornado 4x4 representing a Porsche Cayenne with serious off-road credentials. The crown jewel in Gemballa’s portfolio will be its own mid-engined supercar, complete with over 800 horsepower to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than two and a half seconds and do 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) in seconds. Meanwhile, the previous and current generations of the 911 will get more than 1,000 horsepower this summer courtesy of an upgrade package positioned above the GTR 8XX Evo-R BiTurbo.
